A 8" x 8" Tile for Dog Lovers
Christine Varley's portraits of animals have been adapted to make excellent quirky ceramic tiles.
This Springer Spaniel, inspired by her original artwork, on a green background makes a great tile for dog lovers!
It measures 8 x 8 inches and is board backed with a hook for hanging and a leg for standing.
All of our decorative ceramic picture tiles are individually hand painted by highly skilled artists and are highly labour intensive to make. They are fired at a very high temperature creating permanent, vibrant images that will never fade.
Who is Christine Varley?
Originally from the Cotswolds, Christine Varley has been working since 1987 as a Pet and Animal Portrait Artist, She is now recognised as one of the leading Artists in her field.
She is a great lover of all animals and this is reflected in her paintings. She understands the importance of the relationship between owners and the their pets.
Whilst studying at Coventry University for her graphic design BA Hons degree, she painted pictures of the pretty Cotswold villages and sold them in the local galleries.
During the 1980s a publishing company, distributed prints produced from Christine Varley original pencil illustrations and watercolour paintings. These sold nationwide in their thousands.
Developing her style as a Pet Portrait artist Christine has a reputation for capturing the very character of the animal she is painting. Her experience enables her to advise her clients on the best pose & layout for the painting. Her work has been sent all over the world.
The current range of Christine Varley Products is called WaggyDogz. Featuring dog breed images and other animals as Greetings Cards, Mugs & Coasters, Keyrings, Cushions, Prints and Cavnas Art.
Her work is exhibited at Crufts & the major Horse Trial Events. Companies and Charities she has work with include. Central TV, Vanish, Tesco, Red Letter Days, Daily Express, Daily Mail, Dogs Trust, Kennel Club & The Brooke.
Technical stuff that we get asked a lot...
- Can our tiles be placed into a tiled wall display?
They certainly can. The backing can be removed from the tile by soaking it in warm soapy water, after this is done we recommend leaving the tile to dry thoroughly before using it in your display.
- How thick are the ceramic picture tiles?
All ceramic tiles measure 0.7cm and including the felt back they are 1.1cm
- How do the tiles come packaged?
Each tile comes in fitted foam inside a display box. These are then thoroughly wrapped and protected for shipping.
